This week, his father died of heart failure after being transported away from home by an ambulance due to the closure of the Senneterre emergency room.
A situation decried by many people, including many citizens of the municipality located in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
“We’re pretty much neglected. There are people who have little, there are people who are disgusted, ”lamented Miguel Genest in his video.
The latter deplores the sad fate of his father and hopes that his death will provoke a quick and concrete reaction from the government.
“It’s going to be my fight on behalf of my father. I will push until what happens ”, proclaimed the son of Richard Genest.
The latter refuses to accept the lack of manpower as the only argument to explain the death of his father.
He believes that with competitive wages, the shortage of workers would be much less.
“It is high time that there was someone, if he wanted to be re-elected, that he really put on his pants and that he went and looked for the world in the right places,” said Miguel Genest.
He also mentioned his concern to see emergency closures become commonplace in Quebec, even in large cities.
“The story of my father, this week, caused a lot of ink to flow, but now it will go towards a system that will perhaps spill a lot of blood,” predicted the son of Richard Genest.
