Almost two years ago, Coline, the daughter of Richard Berry, filed a complaint for rape and sexual assault against her father. While justice closed the case three months ago without action for prescription of the complaint, Richard Berry came out of silence in an interview granted this December 18 to the Journal du Dimanche. “I immediately denied these despicable accusations, then I forced myself to remain silent because I wanted to let justice be done. The latter pronounced a dismissal (…) and twice, during the trials in defamation brought by Jeane Manson [elle était sa compagne au moment des faits allégués par sa fille, Ndlr]she condemned Coline for her lies”reacted publicly at first the comedian before striking: “The judgment is very clear, very precise, and the case, in terms of justice, is behind me. I can now express myself and affirm that everything is false”.
Richard Berry then expressed his pain at being accused in this way: “There is nothing more painful than being accused of a crime you did not commit, especially by your daughter. Nothing Coline says happened. I didn’t kiss him on the mouth with my tongue. Nor my two other daughters. I didn’t walk around naked. Jeane did not see the facts described either. They may be invented or induced memories”he argued.
And to add:At 27, Colin [qui en a aujourd’hui 46] told her mother and me that she had been raped by her riding instructor. She asked us not to react. Maybe it all got mixed up? he issued. He also tried to decipher his daughter’s motivations. “There is a sort of jealousy, sometimes fierce, towards my other daughter, Joséphine. And these accusations arose when I announced the birth of my third child with my wife Pascale. [Louange], he tries to analyze. But deep down I don’t understand why she did that.”he concluded.
