An unmarked van leaving a jewelry workshop was robbed on Tuesday April 30 in Rillieux-la-Pape, near Lyon. The perpetrators are on the run, with very important loot.
In amateur images, the robbery has barely ended. It is then 8:30 a.m. Tuesday April 30. The target of the criminals is a van trapped; one car in the front another in the back. A witness, an employee of a company located nearby, witnessed the entire scene. “I saw five very excited hooded people who absolutely wanted to get the driver out”, he confides. The investigation will have to clarify whether there were four or five. The two conveyors were not injured. “In a minute, it was over. I left because there were explosions everywhere. And then, we try to protect our customers as well”assures another witness to the robbery.
A significant loot
The van had just picked up a load of jewelry from an anonymous workshop in an artisanal area. The loot would amount to several hundred thousand euros. For investigators, there is already no doubt that the perpetrators of the robbery come from organized crime. The robbers are still on the run. Investigators specializing in the fight against organized crime are leading the case.
