Review of Simple Syrup, by Loe Pesci and SeinsSucrer | Sex and advice

Two of Montreal’s most respected rappers come together for an album that makes you smile with its sharp humor and clever rhymes.

To say that SeinsSucrer is productive goes beyond an understatement. Simple Syrup is already his fourth album this year, and he released nearly ten… last year. Even more impressive: volume doesn’t affect quality.

For his part, Loe Pesci is a legendary figure of battle rap – these verbal jousts popularized by the film 8 Mile. Slow Down Daddythe latest offering from the man who usually raps in English, dates back to 2019.

For their 15-song collaboration, they recruited the cream of Quebec producers. We find beats by NOMSTKS, Nicholas Craven, 80Rock, Vxnce Carter and Mike Shabb. Both MCs also contributed a few beats, including the sublime groove concocted by Loe on Live it, enhanced with a chorus from Berlam and a verse from Monk. E.

Other artists were invited to the microphone. Greenface shines twice, particularly on What hood do you wear?. We also find D-Track, Witness, JRed The Doctor, Mori$$ Regal, as well as the duo Rainmen who are continuing their comeback.

A moment of grace occurs at the end of the journey, on The Silence of the Devil (remix). For seven minutes, Loe Pesci, SeinsSucrer, Robz Vega and Obia le Chef tear apart the thunderous plot of Vici, which will delight Griselda fans.

Simple Syrup is not for sensitive ears: the words are crude and the frankness is brutal. If you are not easily shocked, you will appreciate the funny and sharp writing of some of our most talented rappers.
