Less coated than its predecessor, this short disc puts forward drier rhythms and minimal melodies. Inspired by current Caribbean and African rhythms (konpa, afro house, afrobeats), these tracks have ants in their legs, as if, after having concocted the perfect soundtrack for the 5 to 7 with Soft PowerPoirier was setting the table for a livelier evening.

royal-royalwhich has a kinship in spirit with Sim Bombei from the previous disc, stands out with its stubborn rhythm and a very simple melody, imbued with roundness, which swirls nicely. Domino, seated on rhythms which are stamping dominated by a haunting and playful melody. played at full volume, shake mama (with Ms Bella on vocals) is sure to set the dance floor on fire.

Poirier pulls the same threads throughout this short, uncluttered disc of great overall finesse. He doesn’t have to reinvent the wheel for people to notice — once again — that he is a curious and sensitive sonic architect, endowed with an unstoppable sense of groove. With momentumthe Montreal composer, DJ and producer arrives at the right time to put on a little sweat in the cold season that is approaching.
