There are not so many nines in Everything is perfect : the Montreal singer-songwriter of French origin has brought together the songs from her first two EPs already published, and has included only two new pieces. But it emerges from the whole a pleasant bittersweet scent that is good to listen to from start to finish.

Your memory in the city / It’s like Banksy », sings Thaïs in Banksyand there is indeed the evanescent side of the works of the British artist in these 10 songs which speak of love and the passage of time.

The multi-instrumentalist, who co-produced her album with Renaud Bastien (long-time collaborator of Cœur de pirate, who also co-signed the success stop dancing), is also a formidable melodist. songs like Escape game, Old Port Where Rampart stick around in your head for a long time, just like the pretty Everything is perfectwhich gently closes this album carried by the singer’s very accurate voice, much more beautiful without Autotune than with the program.

If we can deplore a somewhat smooth side to the whole, Thaïs, who sometimes reminds Angèle, arrives with an already well-defined universe, a world of her own which suggests many others to come. We will certainly find it there.
