Revenues on the rise for AtkinsRéalis thanks to nuclear power

Montreal engineering firm AtkinsRéalis — formerly SNC Lavalin — recorded a sharp increase in revenue last year. The value of its order book in nuclear energy doubled last year, stimulated by a rebirth of interest in this form of energy.

AtkinsRéalis recorded a significant increase in its turnover in 2023 compared to the previous year. Its revenues reached $8 billion, representing an increase of 20.3%.

The AtkinsRéalis order book recorded strong increases in the engineering sector, but especially in the nuclear energy sector. For this sector alone, the value of orders obtained by the company almost doubled in 2023, going from $936 million in 2022 to $1,856 million.

For 2024, the company anticipates an increase in the sector which should oscillate between 12% and 15%. In interview at Dutyearlier this week, the CEO of AtkinsRéalis, Ian Edwards, declared that the return of a marked interest in nuclear energy abroad suggested more marked growth in this sector compared to others.

Remember that the company also changed its name this fall. After ten years marked by both legal and commercial difficulties, SNC-Lavalin became AtkinsRéalis.
