Quebec film December 23 broke the $2 million mark at the box office.
The romantic comedy directed by Miryam Bouchard (Vanishing lines, My own circus) and scripted by India Desjardins (Aurelie Laflamme) reached this milestone in less than six weeks. It continues to be screened in 54 theaters in Quebec.
In a press release, the producer of the feature film, Guillaume L’espérance (Everybody talks about it, STAT), speaks of a “huge honour” to see December 23 join the “restricted club” of Quebec films that have garnered more than 2 million at the cinema. With revenue of $2,076,865 raised in 2021, The perfect family guide is the last Quebec feature film to achieve this feat.
“It’s an extraordinary success for the whole team,” adds Guillaume L’espérance.
Starring Christine Beaulieu, Stéphane Rousseau, Guylaine Tremblay, François Arnaud and Virginie Fortin, December 23 respects the recipe of well-known Christmas chorale films, such as Love Actually.
