There are films that mark their time. “Spangled Shrimp” is one of them. Released in 2019, this film by Cédric Gallo and Maxime Govare now has a sequel. “Revenge of the Glitter Shrimp” announces the reunion between the members of the gay water polo team. For this new part, these exceptional athletes meet to participate in the Tokyo Gay Games. Their goal: to pay tribute to Jean, their friend who died a little earlier.

Glitter prawns on the way to Tokyo

Revenge of the Glitter Shrimp in theaters from April 13, 2022

While the Glitter Shrimp are on their way to participate in the Gay Games in Tokyo, an event will force them to remain stranded in hostile and homophobic lands in the heart of Russia. Difference in culture and language, hostile atmosphere… and twists are on the program of this sequel which also offers a different face from the first part. Indeed, this second film makes it possible to deepen the personality of these “shrimps”. Between lies, doubts, humor and sensitivity, this film is a sweet mix of emotions but does not forget to be committed to the fight against homophobia.

On the occasion of their tour of cinemas, part of the team went through the studios of France Bleu Gironde in order to share this new experience as actors with Pierre Samuel (Bertrand in the film), Romain Lancry (Damien) and Michael Abiteboul (Cédric) but also as co-director and co-screenwriter for Maxime Govare. From the success of the first film to the sometimes complicated realization of this new part, passing by the happiness of meeting again, the guests of France Bleu Gironde deliver themselves with heart and humor.

Still a little patience. The movie “Revenge of the Glitter Shrimp” hits theaters on April 13, 2022. In the meantime, you can dive back into the deep end by rewatching “The Glitter Shrimp”.
