Issam Abdallah lost his life while covering exchanges of fire on the Israeli-Lebanese border, his employer announces.

He is dead by informing. A Reuters video journalist lost his life in southern Lebanon on Friday, October 13, while covering exchanges of fire on the Israeli-Lebanese border. “We are deeply saddened to learn that our videographer Issam Abdallah was killed”reacted the press agency.
He was part of a Reuters team in southern Lebanon providing a live video feed. His employer offered his condolences to his colleagues and family. Lebanese journalist Dalal Mawad published a selfie taken by her colleague a few hours before her death.
Several journalists, including two from AFP, were also injured Friday evening during this bombing near the village of Alma el-Chaab, the target of Israeli shells, according to Lebanese security sources. Rockets fell on an area where there was a group of journalists from at least three different media, according to an AFP journalist on site. Two Al-Jazeera journalists are also among the injured, according to the Qatari channel.
At least five Palestinian journalists killed
The name of Issam Abdallah has been added to the list of journalists killed since Saturday. Five of them of Palestinian origin are among the hundreds of civilians killed during the Hamas terrorist attack and the Israeli army’s response, according to Reporters Without Borders.
“RSF denounces these crimes and calls on all parties to ensure the protection of journalists in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2222,” can we read in a press release.
