Because yes, all that was missing was this trophy on the Pulga charts to complete its showcase. Champions League, Copa America, champion in the various countries in which he played, the Argentinian wanted to lift the ultimate trophy before ending his career. The Blues would probably have preferred him to do it before, rather than take away the victory and bring many tears to our faces. But fate meant that Leo Messi had to face his friend Kylian Mbappé and his teammates to be crowned world champion.

A title celebrated all night long in Argentina and again today as the country welcomed its heroes. During the presentation of the trophy, the man with multiple Ballon d’Ors did not go far from disaster when an electric cable unhooked and failed to bring down the hero of the final with his teammates when they paraded, trophy in hand, in the streets of Buenos Aires. A parade that everyone was waiting for, but very exhausting.
In fact, Leo Messi had to recover the many hours of sleep lost for several days and wanted to immortalize the moment on his Instagram account. The Argentinian striker indeed published a snapshot in his bed in very charming company, but without his wife Antonella Roccuzzo.
