In Essonne, retirees from a condominium for seniors live without light and in the cold after the power was cut off. However, this residence was at its opening, in the 70s, a luxury residence.

In Soisy-sur-Ecole (Essone)retirees living in a condominium for seniors have been without electricity for ten days, Monday, April 18. At 68, the former carer, Chantal Ronclin, no longer has heating, blocked shutters, and no possibility of moving with his pension of 900 euros per month. However, when it opened in the 1970s, this condominium was a luxury senior residence, with 250 apartments and 120 employees. Today, there is only one employee left, and everything is falling apart.

As early as 1990, some owners stopped paying exorbitant charges for services they deemed unnecessary. Debts piled up. There are now only about twenty residents left who, in turn, refuse to pay. With a debt of more than 16 million euros, the condominium no longer pays any bills. The electricity supplier has not renewed the contract, and the water may soon be cut off as well. Legal proceedings are in course butthere still for money problems, it does not advance for years.
