January is notoriously quiet in restaurants. Although the vast majority of them do not roll in gold, they nevertheless offer a host of offers to combat inflation. Here are a few.
Verdun Beach, Montreal
There are several promotions underway at Verdun Beach, a very charming restaurant/wine bar in Verdun, until the end of January. On Wednesdays, a three-course sharing menu costs $30 per person. On Sundays and Mondays, we take 40% off bottles. Do you like oysters? They are $2 each from Sunday to Wednesday.
The Clan, Quebec
Until February 14, Le Clan, this chic restaurant in Old Quebec led by chef Stéphane Modat, pays the bill for the person who accompanies you for lunch (Wednesday to Friday) or brunch (Saturday and Sunday ). It’s not nothing !
Pilot Project, Montreal
In January, the $30 table d’hôte at Projet Pilote, a microbrewery and microdistillery in the Plateau, is composed of a starter of leeks with vinaigrette, a main course of coq au vin with pressed capon leg, winter vegetables and red wine sauce and a chocolate cake with hazelnut diplomatic cream. The wine pairing is $20.
La Belle Histoire, Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson
On Thursday and Friday evenings in January, La Belle Histoire, a gourmet restaurant located in Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson, in the Laurentians, offers a three-course “comfort” menu chosen by the chef and his brigade. This one costs $75.
vinvinvin, Montreal
You can still drink and eat at a reasonable price, at vinvinvin (glasses at $11, $12 and $14!). A few days ago, the popular establishment on Rue Beaubien slashed prices even further by announcing its $20 Spaghetti Mondays, which include fresh pasta with tomatoes and a glass of red wine. Well done !
Beads & Paddock, Montreal
If you eat early (before 7 p.m.), take advantage of the $49 per person menu at Perles & Paddock, which includes five courses to share (for two). This offer is also in effect on Sundays, all evening, in one of the city’s most beautiful dining rooms, in Griffintown.
Cafés Pista, Montreal
Buy one meal and get the second free at Café Pista. The offer is for a limited time, until January 31, and offered between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday to Friday, on orders to be enjoyed on site. Café Pista has three branches: on rue Beaubien, on rue Masson and in the Quartier des spectacles.
