Restaurant award Aliments du Québec on the menu | The Géraldine, big winner of the 6th edition

Located in Saint-Eustache, the restaurant Le Géraldine is the new winner of the Aliments du Québec au menu restaurateur prize, which highlights the efforts of an establishment in local sourcing and to promote our terroir.


The winner of this 6e edition was unveiled during the 85th anniversary gala of the Association Restauration Québec this week. Established for six years, the “bring your own wine” restaurant is led by chef-owner Olivier Robillard.

An example of the use of local products from the region: a dish combining wild ginger, lacto-fermented plums and fennel kimchi.

The latter stood out among the 15 nominated restaurants thanks to its seasonal hyperlocal cuisine, where the products of Laurentians producers and artisans shine. The chef notably has his own garden, at Domaine Lafrance in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, where he has set up a culinary laboratory to test and develop techniques and new ways of working with local products.

Le Géraldine was one of the three finalist restaurants, with the Microbrasserie Le Presbytère, in Saint-Stanislas-de-Champlain, and Le Hatley du Manoir Hovey, in North Hatley. All nominated restaurants sourced an average of 90% local food, which made the competition particularly strong this year. The restaurants were evaluated in particular by taking into account the proportion of local products on their menu, the promotion of local terroir, the supply method and the involvement and creativity to promote Quebec products.
