At the beginning of Resortthe fourth album by Munich composer and DJ Bryan Müller (Skee Mask), we discover a song called Nostaglitch which evokes for us the sound of classical music Selected Ambient Works Volume II by Aphex Twin, published thirty years ago this year (a reissue is announced for the fall). By referring to it again in his work, Müeller reaffirms his aesthetic as much as that of the label Ilian Tape: all rhythmic variations (techno, house, drum & bass, etc.) are embraced, as long as they are served with precise synthetic harmonies that bring them closer to ambient music, which the composer excels at. A delightful album that Resort which, after a very ambient first quarter, first integrates breakbeats swaying (Element), a soft techno tempo (Weldmeister), then an electro rhythm accompanied by meticulous cymbals on Daytime Gameraccompanied by melodious synth pads. An album that is both contemplative and danceable when the almost garage groove Hölzl Was a Dancer invites itself at the end.
