An activist from the Quebec Future Coalition in Gatineau has turned his back on the party and now promises to do everything possible to allow the Liberal Party of Quebec to “sweep everything away” in the Outaouais in the October 2022 election.
Roland Bussière, former director of the local action committee (CAL) for the riding of Gatineau, stepped up interviews on Wednesday to explain the reasons for his departure from the CAQ. “When I have had enough of being ignored, I have had enough”, he said to the To have to. “I want Mr. Legault to have a very clear message: it is enough to take us for stoves!” “
He himself resigned his post in August. In an interview, he said the other seven CAL members resigned as of May. “If there are eight of us who are resigning at the same time and I give you all the reasons, there should be no coincidence in this,” he said.
The director general of the CAQ, Brigitte Legault, assures us that this is not the case. “There are no resignations en bloc”, she assured the To have to. She said the eight CAL members in Gatineau had left their posts for a variety of reasons, including health. “We do not make any case with us,” she insisted.
In a press release, the member for Gatineau, Robert Bussière, also stressed that the Gatineau CAL “is doing well”. “It’s always disappointing to see an activist leave, that said, I respect everyone’s choice and I won’t comment further. Despite everything, I would like to thank Mr. Bussière for his involvement, ”he continued.
In an interview, Roland Bussière said he was not related to the deputy. The CAQ argues instead that the two men are cousins.
A long list of grievances
At To have to, the retired financial manager made a long list of grievances towards the CAQ, in which he began to campaign in 2018. He particularly regrets that a project to expand a school in La Pêche did not materialize . He also accuses the government of neglecting residents in CHSLDs and of ignoring the Wakefield hospital. “I’m 76 years old, is it going to be like in Abitibi and I’m going to die on the way? He asked, referring to the recent death of a man who lived near the Senneterre emergency room, which is closed 16 hours a day.
“It ends up that we will have nothing, nothing, nothing,” he said of his region. To show his frustration, Mr. Bussière decided to join the PLQ. “I invite all the people [des circonscriptions] from Pontiac, from Hull, from Chapleau, from Papineau to give a clear message to Mr. Legault that we will not accept that, ”he said.
The CAL’s mandate is in particular to “energize local democratic life”, “to encourage the adhesion of new members within the CAQ”, “to contribute to the achievement of funding objectives” and “to promote the election. of the local candidate of the CAQ ”.
