Food aid does not enter the Gaza Strip. According to the UN, in the north of the enclave, one in six children suffer from acute malnutrition.

In Jabaliya (Gaza), no food aid has arrived for more than a month. Trucks enter slowly from the south of the enclave and their transport to the north is almost impossible because of the incessant fighting and destruction. According to the UN, in northern Gaza, one in six children suffer from acute malnutrition and a quarter of the Gaza Strip’s population dies of starvation.

“Children need to eat”

“There’s nothing left that we haven’t eaten, we even ate chicken feed.”, deplores Abu Loai, resident of Gaza. Despite the danger, the population is desperately awaiting the arrival of humanitarian aid trucks. “I risk my life and I can’t get help. I come back empty-handed”says Gaza resident Umm Durgham. “There are children who need to eat. There are children who need medicine”, warns Abo Mohammad, resident of Gaza. Negotiations for a truce are underway, but Israel demands the release of the hostages before an agreement.
