Residents of Gorron denounce the methods of the mayor who contests all authoritarianism

There’s rififi in the air in Gorron. A citizens’ association was recently formed to denounce the actions of the town hall. According to its members, the majority would make decisions without specifying the outlines in city council.

In a letter sent to elected officials at the end of October, they want more clarity on the part of the mayor and his collaborators. There are technical aspects to fully understand what the association criticizes them for and it requests in particular respect for the rapid display of the deliberations of the council as provided for in the official texts. There are also concrete examples, including the purchase of a building last year to rent it to the ARC company, specializing in the manufacture of agricultural trailers. Frédéric Rivière is the president of the association of citizens: “For the ARC, it cost more than 200,000 euros and it was not on the agenda, this decision was voted on in three rounds, the deputies did not agree while this company was accumulating debts. we would like to know what it is and where the money of the Gorronnais goes”.

On the side of the majority, we deplore the suspicion of the collective on municipal affairs. For Mayor Jean-Marc Allain, we are looking for the little beast where it is not: “There is a budget that is voted on in council and then we deal with it. Obviously everything is available to those who want to have information. These suspicions are tiring. If these people only have that to do, it’s “is serious. If they were at work, they wouldn’t have time to do this type of process.”

Member of the opposing list during the last municipal elections, the president of the collective denies being at the head of a political opposition association. “We just want answers” he confides to France Bleu Mayenne.
