“What was my surprise, lately, to learn that there were tickets online for my show at $300 a seat! says storyteller and singer Fred Pellerin in his one-minute capsule, posted on YouTube. Ludovick Bourgeois, Louis-Jean Cormier, Corneille, Lise Dision, Simon Leblac, Marie-Denise-Pelletier, Joe Bocan and Guylaine Tanguay also responded to ADISQ’s call.

According to ADISQ, the resumption of shows has highlighted the magnitude of the ticket resale phenomenon. People who had bought their tickets on resale sites – sometimes without their knowledge – were not informed of the cancellation or postponement of the shows – while often paying much more. “In this period of inflation, it is more important than ever to pay the right price for our show tickets,” said Eve Paré, director general of ADISQ, in a press release, pointing out that resale sites sometimes have the air of “official sites”.

“Let’s say you want to buy a ticket for my show, it’s simple, you have two options: you go to my website, or you go to the site of the hall or the venue of the show”, summarizes Guylaine Tanguay .

“It’s the best way to get the right price, and also to have the best after-sales service,” adds Corneille.
