Judge Jean-François Émond of the Superior Court, who will be responsible for deciding Jacques Delisle’s motion for a stay of proceedings, was entitled to a “guided tour of the evidence” on Friday, according to the expression chosen by the criminal lawyer Me Jacques Larochelle.
Jacques Delisle, 86, a former judge of the Court of Appeal, is awaiting his second trial for the first degree murder of his wife Nicole Rainville. He calls for a stay of proceedings because of what he claims to be the faults of the prosecution experts, in particular the pathologist, who deprive him, he says, of a full and complete defense.
