Emmanuel Macron launched his camp’s campaign for the legislative elections on Wednesday June 12. The head of state held a press conference: no major break but a refusal of what he calls “two extremes” and five priorities set, without much new. The outgoing deputies of the presidential majority are already on the ground. In Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in the 6th constituency of Yvelines, outgoing Renaissance MP Natalia Pouzyreff is campaigning for her re-election.

In a navy blue suit, Natalia Pouzyreff has just finished a photo shoot: “For the profession of faith because we went back into battle. It’s a campaign that we cannot lose and all the activists are well motivated.” Activists who indeed support her. “Of course I’m going to participate, we’re in for a battle again”, testifies one of them. The residents encountered in the streets of Saint-Germain-en-Laye are in the same dynamic. “I want us to stay like before,” said one. “There are quite a few Saint-Germanois who are against the extremes, whether extreme left or extreme right”adds another.

In this wealthy town of Yvelines, the Ensemble list came in first on Sunday but in the rest of the constituency, voters also turned to the RN and LFI. A challenge for the outgoing MP and her team. Nina is part of the Young People with Macron: “It’s certain that Sunday’s scores are bound to worry us. We really have to react. We’re going to put on our sneakers and from this weekend we’re going to go to the markets, go door to door… Really do so that no voice goes to extremes.” Natalia Pouzyreff is questioned on a major subject of concern: security. “That needs to be heard. One of the main concerns in an urban environment is being able to work, live your life peacefully, without being disturbed by noise pollution, traffic of all kinds… I am completely convinced that we must be very strict. We need immediate answers.”

The outgoing MP subscribes to Emmanuel Macron’s speech and intends to convince voters on both the right and the left to vote for her: “He calls for clarification. It is a clear but attentive speech with inflections in our policy and in the consideration of concerns. In a slightly more democratic approach with perhaps petitions which can go back under form of legislative proposals in our legislative work.” The presidential camp candidate does not yet know her opponents in the 6th constituency of Yvelines.
