It has been 10 years since a film has had such success in French cinemas, since What have we done to God? ?. Released on May 1st, A little something extra, has just passed the 10 million admissions mark. The film, which tells the story of the adventures of a summer camp for young adults with disabilities, had met with great success upon its release, and it continues to do so. The spectators are still numerous and captivated, in front of this Parisian cinema. Like Hervé, who leaves the screening with tears in his eyes, still in shock. “I contained my emotion a little. That’s why all of a sudden, it came out when the film was released. It’s remarkable.”

His nine-year-old daughter, Myrtille, insisted on watching the film with her father. This is the second time she has seen it and she still enjoys it just as much. “I loved everything about it. I found it really moving. Plus, there were a lot of funny moments too. I loved it.”

And she can’t believe that her favourite film has had 10 million admissions: “That’s still a lot,” she says in surprise. His father, however, is not surprised. It’s completely normal, it speaks to so many people. I can’t even find the words, once again, I’m emotional.”

Julie also saw the film with her family. After such a success, she is keeping her fingers crossed that society will take more account of people with disabilities.

“It also allows us to open the blinders we wear every day a little bit.”

“It really allowed us to feel a lot of sensations. We hope that it will have an impact on all people who have disabilities. We don’t have the impression that it is well taken into account by the public authorities.” An argument shared by spectators who flock before the next screening.
