The journalist Valérie Heurtel presents, Thursday, June 22 in her column “An idea for France”, several initiatives to have her objects repaired and spend less.

Mehdi Barka, creator of SOS Luggage, repairs broken suitcases. A new suitcase that costs 250 euros can thus be repaired for only 25 euros. In some cases, the airline, responsible for the baggage, may pay the bill. Mehdi Barka, who worked for a luxury brand, works with Roissy airport, which is his first source of supply. In his workshop, everything is repaired: wheel, lock, hinge and trolley. He opened several workshops in town.

Refurbish clothes online

If you live far from home, it is possible to repair your suitcase thanks to the tutorials he posted on YouTube. Repairing allows you to pollute less and spend less, and it also works for clothes. On the internet, sites are multiplying. To avoid throwing away, brands sometimes manufacture to order. Children can also learn to repair, as is the case in the Paris region with a repair café that goes to schools.
