The measures imposed so far to control the pandemic have prompted the organization of Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma to postpone its 40and edition in April. The festival, which was supposed to start on February 23, will instead take place from April 20 to 30.

“With this change, Québec Cinéma wishes to give itself the chance to offer the public and the cinema community a festive, unifying and in-person anniversary edition,” specifies the press release issued by the organizers.
Holding the event indoors is a priority for Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma (RVQC), which wants to be in solidarity with cinemas “and be part of the cinematographic and cultural revival”.
The festival program will be unveiled in March on a date to be confirmed. Québec Cinéma has also announced that its mentoring program called La Forge is also moved and that its activities will be held from 1er to April 5.
