Renault plant shut down for three days due to shortage of semiconductors

More than half of the 3,000 employees of the Renault factory in Douai (North) are partially unemployed from this Thursday and for three days (Friday and Monday). The announcement was made by email to employees, who had been warned that the month of September would be complicated.

The factory produces the electric Megane

The supply of semiconductors is too low to continue production. These small parts are essential to the construction of electronic devices. Shortages have followed one another since the health crisis.

Two semiconductor shortages have already caused shutdowns of production, last April and two weeks ago. The Douai plant produces the electric Megane.
