Renaud: Dave back, Renan Luce moved, Axelle Red for a legendary duo… Big party for his birthday!

Impossible to celebrate your 70th birthday alone! For his big return to television, Renaud has invited many singers to come and join him on stage this Tuesday evening, on the occasion of the evening that France 2 devotes to him. All generations combined, they have decided to cover his best songs, moving or funny, to pay him a real tribute.

Some moments are particularly expected, such as the duet that the singer will reform with Axelle Red on their flagship song Manhattan-Kabul, released in 2002. The two artists have not sung it for many years together and risk having a moment of emotion! Jean-Paul Rouve, with whom “the annoying singer” has been friends for almost fifteen years will also be on stage to sing, he who participated in Renaud’s last clip.

Joyce Jonathan, Claire Keim and Elodie Frégé, radiantly beautiful, will also be present to pay tribute to the singer. The second will notably perform the magnificent song Winner Mistral, which Renaud had written for his daughter Lolita. This will also be present in the room. And will surely look forward to the performance of her ex-husband (and father of her daughter Héloïse), Renan Luce, who remained among Renaud’s closest friends.

Mix of generations

Gauvain Sers, Renaud’s protege, will also share the stage with him, as will Bénabar or Vincent Delerm, who will perform morgan of you, another song intended for Lolita. Dave, fully recovered from his shock to the head, will also make his comeback with a symbolic look that should please Malone’s dad: a sailor top and a red neckerchief, his trademark!

Jean-Louis Aubert, also bothered by some health concerns, will be very present for a duet with Renaud on the Northern Irish Ballad, just like Patrick Bruel or Raphaël and Tryo. Finally, Calogero will perform the sublime Song for Pierrota title that moved Renaud to tears, as he recently confided in an interview with Parisian.

Very attached to the mixing of generations, Renaud nevertheless made a secret in the same newspaper: he does not like … rap! Indeed, no rapper is invited for this evening, a fact that he explains by a generation difference. “I’m sorry for them but I’m not a fan. Orelsan and Stromae, it’s well written, but musically, I don’t catch on. It leaves me cold. I am too old“, he had explained, adding that a young woman had however been approached but was not available.Angèle, I would have liked to do a duet with her but she was on tour“, he revealed. Perhaps he would have succeeded in bringing in his son Malone, 15, very discreet in the media and conspicuously absent from the evening.
