Emmanuel Macron will give a speech on Europe at La Sorbonne (Paris) on Thursday April 25 to come to the rescue of Valérie Hayer. Indeed, the head of the list is struggling to establish itself in the polls.
MEP Valérie Hayer, head of the Renaissance list, was not the president’s first choice. But no one within the party wanted to take the risk of a potential setback on June 9 during the European elections. A few weeks before the European vote, Sunday April 21, the presidential party’s campaign is slipping. The majority nervously scrutinizes the polls which find their candidate in trouble.
Soldier Hayer must be saved
The National Rally is in the lead far ahead of Renaissance, closely followed by Raphaël Glucksmann. According to an MP, the party is preparing for a defeat against the far right, and could be overtaken by the list carried by the left. Could presidential intervention turn the tide? In 2019, to save his campaign, Emmanuel Macron went to the front. Last week, he appeared alongside the candidate. Thursday April 25, the president will give a speech on Europe at La Sorbonne (Paris) and should target the RN.
