Paul Midy, Renaissance deputy for Essonne, is the guest of 19/20 info, Monday March 11, to talk about the European elections, while the RN list is given at the top of the voting intentions.
Three months before the European elections which will take place on June 9, the polls highlight a significant gap between voting intentions in favor of the National Rally and those of the presidential majority. The head of the Renaissance list Valérie Hayer seems to be struggling to catch up, despite launching her campaign in Lille in the presence of major party figures such as Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin. For Paul Midy, Renaissance deputy for Essonne, the majority “can achieve a better score than in 2019, because the context is different”. “The Covid crisis is behind us, China supports Russia which is attacking Ukraine… We need Europe even more than before”he elaborates.
The RN in the lead in 2019
Thus, the RN list led by Jordan Bardella comes well ahead in voting intentions, while Renaissance remains behind. In 2019, the FN’s “Take power” list came at the top of the ballot with 23.34% of the votes cast, ahead of the Renaissance lists (22.42%), Europe Écologie (13.48%), Union de la right and center (8.48%).
