Hounded for several days on his Quebec-Lévis tunnel project, which has so far not been based on any study, the CAQ leader and outgoing deputy for L’Assomption was arrested during a press scrum on Sunday about another infrastructure project, this time for the greater Montreal area.

Last May, Quebec took over the Eastern REM project from the hands of the Caisse de depot et placement. A new version of the project is in preparation. François Legault then indicated that he is planning a second phase of this project with extensions to Laval and Lanaudière.

Is the extension to Lanaudière an electoral promise? he was asked. “What we said is that we are going to study it,” he replied, confirming that his commitment, “it is a study”.
