The mayoress of Montreal said Tuesday that CDPQ Infra must “be accountable” for the repeated postponements of the inauguration of the REM.
Valérie Plante indicated that the organization was proactive and transparent about the noise problems generated by its network, but that it had to do the same with the growing delay in its launch.
“For a long time, we praised the CDPQ model, saying that there would be no delays and that there would be no cost overruns,” said Valérie Plante. “If it was the STM or a state corporation, we should be accountable. The CPDQ must do the same. »
“I want the CDPQ to continue to give the answers we need,” she also said.
Valérie Plante was speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of mayors of Greater Montreal at the convention center.
Last Wednesday, The Press revealed that the launch of the first section of the REM would not take place by the end of the spring, as repeated by CDPQ Infra’s management for several months. The preliminary tests have not yet been completed and the final stage before the inauguration-the dry run-has not even begun.
