Fifteen days after Lewis Hamilton’s 100th career victory in Sochi, the Briton has not had a great weekend at the Turkish Grand Prix. Author of the pole position but dispossessed of this position because penalized by ten places for having changed engine, the world championship leader had climbed from 11th to 3rd place before his last pit stop was fatal.
The Mercedes driver finished in 5th position in the race, very far from his teammate Valtteri Bottas, the winner who beat the two Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Arrived in Istanbul in first place in the championship with two points ahead of the Dutchman, he left relegated to second place with six points behind his rival Verstappen.
