The French supporters were hoping for a misstep but Ireland continued their faultless. After a long hung game against Scotland, the XV of Clover won (22-7), Sunday, March 12, at Murrayfield. Thanks to this new success, the Irish regain first place in the Tournament alone, while a defeat would have completely revived the suspense in their distance duel with France.
The XV du Chardon however scored the first try through Huw Jones (17th). But the Irish were back in front thanks to Mack Hansen (28th), author of a superb match, before overcoming a valiant but worn Scotland on the hour mark. James Lowe (57th) then Jack Conan (61st ) scored two tries in quick succession to secure victory for their side. The men in green will aim for a Grand Slam against England next Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
