England had the opportunity to strike very hard on Saturday February 10 against Wales. This second success (16-14) allowed the XV de la Rose to take the lead in this 2024 Six Nations Tournament, after its inaugural victory in Italy (24-27). However, Wales long believed they had made a very big move, leading the score for more than fifty minutes.
The Leek XV took advantage of English indiscipline, reduced to 14 then 13 following two yellow cards (11th for Chessum, 17th for Roots), to take off in the first half. But a very good offensive move from George Ford for Fraser Dingwall, then a decisive penalty ten minutes from the end of the match offered Steve Borthwick’s men a significant success.
