The fight will have been indecisive until the end. But it was ultimately the championship leader who had the last word. A last try from Julien Dumora, three minutes from the end, allowed the Tarnais to win, Friday June 17, against the Toulouse ogre (24-18). Mathieu Babillot’s partners thus qualify for the final of the Top 14, Friday June 24, which they will play against the winner of the Montpellier-Bordeaux-Bègles meeting (Saturday June 18, at 9:05 p.m.).
For Toulouse, on the other hand, this defeat marks the end of a season without a title. Antoine Dupont and his family have however believed in it for a long time, especially when a try from Ntamack, transformed by Ramos, brought them to a small point in the score. The Rouge et Noir even regained the advantage a few minutes later but the end of this match fell to the Castres, physically fresher than the clearly blunted Toulouse.
