Toulouse will have the right to its duel at the top. Winners (38-26) of Harlequins in a white-hot Stadium, the Stadistes reached the final of the Champions Cup, Sunday May 5. In the lead for most of the match thanks to a high-flying first period, Ugo Mola’s men avoided a comeback from the English after the break.

The lead of the locals, authors of five tries before half-time, including a double from Antoine Dupont, melted like snow in the sun when Marcus Smith’s teammates rebelled to come back to five points. But the yellow card addressed to Jack Walker for a charge in Dupont’s face stopped the English momentum a quarter of an hour from time.

Juan Cruz Mallia took care of the matter by diving into the goal straight away. The Haut-Garonnais will challenge Leinster at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on May 25, with a sixth European star in their sights. The Irish, for their part, will try to end a series of two consecutive lost finals (against La Rochelle) to win a fifth European title and thus return to equality with the Stade.
