Led by flag bearers Mélina Robert-Michon and Florent Manaudou, the French tricolor team closed the parade in the heart of the capital.

To the sound of Johnny Hallyday, Michel Polnareff and M83, lThe French team completed the parade of 205 delegations during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Friday, July 26. Under pouring rain but in a festive atmosphere, The French boat completed the procession on the Seine which had been opened, as tradition dictates, by Greece, in tribute to the country of origin of the Olympic Games. The Blues followed the Australian and American delegations, whose countries will host the 2032 (Brisbane) and 2028 (Los Angeles) Olympic Games.

Led by its two flag bearers Mélina Robert-Michon and Florent Manaudou, the French delegation comprised 414 people, including 368 regular and substitute athletes. Not all of the 571 athletes in total were present, some having chosen not to participate in order to focus on the competition, such as tennis player Ugo Humbert or the French men’s basketball team.

Around thirty sports were represented: athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, breaking, horse riding, fencing, golf, gymnastics, weightlifting, handball, field hockey, judo, wrestling, modern pentathlon, rugby, skateboarding, aquatic sports, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, shooting, archery, sailing and volleyball.
