7:54 p.m. : Good evening @canninou, this 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival can be followed on France Télévisions. The opening ceremony is currently broadcast on France 2. The closing ceremony will also be broadcast on France 2 on Saturday May 27. Every day, a special edition will follow at the end of the afternoon on franceinfo channel 27.

7:49 p.m. : For Michael Douglas, the Cannes Film Festival ensures, after the Covid-19 pandemic and while the conflict in Ukraine continues, that “cinema does more than remind us of the positive (…) it shows that cinema can transcend differences and unite human beings”.

7:26 p.m. : Rumors have been circulating lately about tensions on the set between Johnny Depp and Maïwenn. Asked about his vision of the work of the director, the American actor confided that she had a “incredibly coherent vision”. “She’s a great director”he added.

6:19 p.m. : To open this 76th edition, Thierry Frémaux has chosen the sixth film by director Maïwenn, Jeanne du Barry, which recounts the life of the courtesan of Louis XV.
