Eric Dupond-Moretti, guest on France 2’s “20 Heures” on Wednesday evening, asserted his innocence and said he now wanted to “turn the page”.
The Minister of Justice, Eric Dupond-Moretti, freshly acquitted by the Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR), was the guest of “20 Heures” on France 2, Wednesday November 29. The Minister of Justice expressed his “relief” after the outcome of his unprecedented trial for illegal taking of interests. “I never intended to take revenge”, assured the Minister of Justice. The Court of Justice of the Republic concluded that there was an illegal taking of interests, but without “intentional element” from the Minister of Justice.
“Turn the page”
Asked about his continued employment despite his indictment, a red line drawn by Emmanuel Macron in 2017, Eric Dupond-Moretti asserts his innocence and says he wants “turn the page”. “I defended myself. This trial was a test for me and at the same time a relief. I had been waiting for more than three years for the moment to finally explain myself”did he declare.
