Scotland experienced two radically opposing matches before facing France next Saturday in Edinburgh. Confident, perfectly guided by Finn Russell, the Chardon XV first largely dominated a Welsh team very quickly overwhelmed on their lawn, Saturday February 3, in Cardiff. Then, he rested on his laurels and allowed the suddenly unleashed Welsh to gradually return.

In the midst of a generational transition, they initially seemed to pay dearly for their inexperience. Multiplying the errors of indiscipline, they gave the Scots the stick to beat themselves with. Trailing 27-0 on their pitch after returning from the locker room, the Welsh finally decided to react, taking advantage of a Scottish yellow card to reduce the score thanks to two tries.

From then on, the match shifted into another dimension, completely crazy, which saw Wales, supported by a melting public, return to a very small point of petrified Scots. Gregor Townsend’s men nonetheless managed, courageously, to preserve their tiny advantage to achieve a narrow victory after an incredible match.
