Max Verstappen establishes his domination of the championship. The Dutchman won the Hungarian Grand Prix after a high-flying race on the Hungaroring track on Sunday July 31. Starting tenth on the grid after a power problem in qualifying, the Red Bull driver gradually overtook his opponents and took advantage of Ferrari’s poor strategy to claim an eighth victory this season. He is ahead of the two Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and poleman George Russell, confirming the progress of the German team over the past few races.

On the other hand, it is the grimace soup in the Ferrari clan. Third at the start, Charles Leclerc was penalized by his team’s strategy, which put him on the wrong tyres, forcing him to stop once too often. He finished 6th, two places behind his teammate Carlos Sainz, 4th. The two pilots were however in control of the race each in turn during the first part of the Grand Prix.
