The XV of the Rose is reassured. A week after their inaugural defeat against Scotland (29-23), England won their first victory in the 2023 Six Nations Tournament on Sunday February 12 against Italy (31-14). At Twickenham, the English have pocketed the offensive bonus point and are back in third position in the standings.
Steve Borthwick’s players entered their match well as they led 19-0 at the break thanks to three powerful tries from Jack Willis (13th), Ollie Chessum (28th) and Jamie George (37th). Returning from the locker room, Italy showed a much more attractive face. Marco Riccioni gave hope to his people (19-7, 44th) before Alessandro Fusco brought his team closer on the heels of England (26-14, 63rd). But the XV de la Rose, who inherited the offensive bonus on a penalty try (50th), managed to take off thanks to Henry Arundell (70th).
