Eight years after bronze in Sochi, the 27-year-old Frenchwoman won silver in Beijing by taking second place in the snowboard cross final on Wednesday.

The French Chloé Trespeuch became Olympic vice-champion of snowboard cross, Wednesday, February 9, on the site of Zhangjiakou (China) during the Beijing Olympics. At the age of 27, she won her second Olympic medal after the bronze in Sochi in 2014.

In the final, despite a timid start as she is used to, the native of Bourg-Saint-Maurice quickly took her place in second position. On the other hand, she did not manage to take over the American Lindsey Jacobellis who offered herself the Olympic coronation at 36 years old. The only title that was missing from the immense record of the five-time world champion.

This is the sixth medal for the French delegation after the gold of Quentin Fillon Maillet on the individual (20 km) in biathlon, and the silver of the acrobatic skier Tess Ledeux in big air, of Anaïs Chevalier- Bouchet on the individual (15 km) in biathlon, the mixed biathlon relay and Johan Clarey in the downhill.
