Storms, a collapsing tower or the open weekend of the SPA, find Un jour en France, Sunday May 14.
In four municipalities in the Aisne, storms washed out the fields and flooded the streets. Much damage is to be deplored, with nearly a meter of water in some cellars. No less than six people found themselves stranded in their vehicle on Saturday, May 13, due to flooding which prompted the intervention of around thirty firefighters.
A tower in the Brésard district in Guéret (Creuse) fell this Sunday, a demolition that was planned for a long time and a page that turns for the former residents.
Animal abandonment on the rise
The SPA opened its doors this weekend, calling for responsible adoptions. Animal abandonment increased by 15% in the first quarter, in particular due to the rise in the price of kibble. “People think it’s not essential to allocate a particular budget for an animal”laments Christophe Dumont-Richet, manager of the SPA refuge in Marennes-Lyon. “We are here to tell them that it may not be the right time to have an animal.” Many owners fear that they will no longer be able to take care of their animals.
