Relief for Joel Edmundson

Joel Edmundson took time to heal his back. On a more personal note, he also experienced the loss of his father, Bob. In the 58th game of the season, the 28-year-old defender donned the CH uniform for the first time.

“I’ve had quite an emotional last few months. I think of him everyday. I would have liked to score a goal for him, I know he is watching me from heaven. He will stay with me for the rest of my career. I wouldn’t be here without him. There’s nothing better than a game to get your timing back. There are a few presences where I was searching for my breath. I felt some cramps in the third period, but it will get better. »

Brendan Gallagher was delighted with Edmundson’s return to play. Number 11 described him as a point guard, somewhat in the mold of Shea Weber.

“He overcame several challenges this year. On three or four occasions he expected to return to the game, but he couldn’t due to problems. He is a huge part of our team. The guys love him, he’s a good leader in the locker room. He has a presence on the ice, he is happy to be back. Weber was also said to have a presence. I played against Eddy (Edmundson) in junior. It’s not nice to go around corners with him. »

Joel Edmundson will be looking to boost the morale of his teammates by the end of the year.

“There have been several dark days this year. I want to bring back smiles. I like to keep a positive approach. It’s my mentality. There’s nothing better than getting together with your teammates. My philosophy is that we have to win today. »
