In 2016, Cigarettes after sex released a first single, Kand first shock, thanks to a voice, the suave and androgynous one of Greg Gonzalez. Born in 1982 in El Paso, Texas, Greg Gonzalez founded Cigarettes after Sex in 2008 with Phillip Tubbs, who has since left the adventure. After a few years of confidential activity, the general public discovered and adopted them in 2017 with the release of the first eponymous album, which sold tens of thousands of copies worldwide.
Two years later, Cigarettes after Sex released a second album, Cry whose success will be less and five years later, here is therefore X’sThe formula has not changed, with Greg Gonzalez’s voice continuing to captivate, around lyrics talking about love, eroticism, relationships.
Greg Gonzalez often cites French artists as his influences, such as Serge Gainsbourg or Erik Satie. He is also a big fan of Françoise Hardy, who passed away on June 11, and it was also mutual.
