After the adoption of the motion to reject the immigration bill in the National Assembly, the government decided, Tuesday, December 12, to convene a joint committee. It will examine the version of the text reworked and toughened by the Senate.
Twenty-four hours have passed since the adoption of the motion to reject the immigration bill in the National Assembly, but the atmosphere in the chamber is still electric on Tuesday, December 12. The government has decided to convene a joint joint commission (CMP). Made up of seven senators and seven deputies, it must develop a new text. With five parliamentarians in this commission, the presidential majority is not a majority.
A bill that is still far from adoption
The right is essential in this CMPand it is on a text already marked on the right that the commission will have to discuss. “The commission will have to re-examine a text and the last text which was adopted, in this case, is that of the Senate”specifies Jean-Philippe Derosierprofessor of public law at the University of Lille (North). Gerald’s bill Darmanin is still far from adoption. Even if the CMP is successful, there will be still very uncertain parliamentary stages.
