After two nights of violence everywhere in France, the President of the Republic announced, Friday, June 30, the deployment of human and material reinforcements on the ground for this night.

The president cut short his trip to Brussels on Friday June 30. The Prime Minister improvises a visit to the Evry police station. Back in Paris, Emmanuel Macron convenes a second crisis meeting in two days. “The two nights we have just experienced are part of a situation that is absolutely unacceptable and unjustifiable, because nothing can justify violence”, explains the president. He then announces additional means and then appeals to parents to keep their children at home.

No state of emergency yet, but until when?

No state of emergency, no generalized curfew, but all the buses in France and all the trams will stop at 9 p.m. tonight. Major outdoor events are canceled and the sale of cans of gasoline or acid will be prohibited. The government also indicated the deployment of gendarmerie armored vehicles to deal with overflows. For La France insoumise, repression is not the solution, when the RN called on the head of state for more firmness. The boss of the Republicans, Éric Ciotti, believes that it is necessary “declare a state of emergency on all the territories concerned”.
