Reinforcement in front of the Rocket net

The Laval Rocket went to look for reinforcements in front of his net on Monday. The team announced that it has offered a professional tryout contract to Finnish goalkeeper Kasimir Kaskikuo.

Kaskikuo, aged 30, had been playing for two seasons with Leksands IF in Sweden. This season, he maintained a save average of .879 in 14 games.

The goaltender spent most of his career in North America in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, mainly with the Marlies, the farm club. He played 95 games in the American League during his 10-year professional hockey career.

The Nashville Predators were his last team in the NHL. He only played a total of two matches in the Bettman circuit.

Theoretically, Kaskikuo should come in and help stabilize things in front of the Rocket net. Neither Strauss Mann nor Jakub Dobes were able to win in Laval this season. The Rocket are the worst team in terms of goals allowed this season in the AHL, with 105 offerings after 25 games.
