This was announced by head coach Sheldon Keefe at a press conference, a few hours before the duel against Michigan.

Muzzin has not skated in a National League game since April 14, due to an injury the nature of which has not been disclosed by the organization.

Limited to 45 games in 2021-2022, the 33-year-old guard has amassed three goals and 11 assists for 14 points. He also maintained a -6 rating.

John Tavares, Timothy Liljegran and Nick Robertson, recalled from the Marlies in the American League, are also expected to be in uniform against the Red Wings.

The Leafs need just one point by the end of their regular season to secure home ice advantage for their first-round series. After facing Detroit, the Queen City club will wrap up its campaign with a visit from the Boston Bruins on Friday night.
