Faced with the increase in terrorist threats against French educational establishments, security has been reinforced, particularly in Hauts-de-France, in Amiens.
Monday March 25, entry into a high school in Amiens (Somme) is under high security. The educational staff welcomes the students and searches the bags as they pass. Friday March 22, three middle schools and three high schools in the department received attack threats. The message notably mentioned an explosive attack. “They talk about deaths, that we will pay dearly”reports a student.
“Very great vigilance, very great attention”
These threats are taken very seriously by the authorities. “The key word is both very great vigilance, very great attention to what is happening, we do not let anything slip by, we do not rule out any hypothesis, even if at this stage, these may be -be rather malicious acts”, assures Rollin Mouchel-Blaisot, prefect of the Somme. A similar system is deployed in all targeted establishments in Haut-de-France, 122 throughout the region. ENT, the workspace through which the threats were transmitted, is always disabled, as a precaution.
